Job summary

StepStone Group is seeking an experienced data management professional to lead the Security Master team for the private debt platform. You will own governance, quality, and controls, working with investment, operations, risk, compliance, finance, reporting, and technology stakeholders to ensure accurate, actionable data.

The role combines strong technical knowledge of security master data with leadership, stakeholder management, and an understanding of private debt instruments.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Business, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in data governance/data management or Security Master data in financial services.
• Experience leading a data/operations/reference data or Security Master team.
• Private markets or private debt experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles, practices, and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Security Master data for the private debt business, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and usability.
• Lead governance framework, policies, standards, and controls for Security Master data.
• Act as senior point of contact for Security Master matters and stakeholder queries.
• Drive improvements in operating model, controls, documentation, and service standards.
• Collaborate with investment, operations, risk, compliance, finance, reporting, and technology teams.
• Provide senior management reporting on data quality, risks, and progress.
