Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Principal, Security Development & Automation to lead development and automation capabilities that strengthen cyber defense. You will engineer AI-enabled workflows, secure API integrations, and scalable automation patterns across security and IT platforms.

The role requires extensive experience in cybersecurity and software engineering, with hands-on Python development, REST APIs, and familiarity with enterprise AI platforms.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related tech disciplines.
• Strong development and automation skills in Python and REST APIs.
• Experience with AI-enabled security workflows and pagination of automation.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms (e.g., AI Foundry) and secure use of AI in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI-enabled security workflows and automation patterns.
• Create secure API integrations across security platforms and ITSM/CMDB systems.
• Develop and maintain LLM-based vulnerability scanning and remediation solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and influence security automation roadmaps.
