Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking an experienced SDE2 to work on the core C/C++ replication engine powering migrations for PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server endpoints.

You will diagnose production issues, improve reliability, and contribute to security and compliance while collaborating with global teams across Dublin, Poland, and the US.

The role emphasizes scalable design, on-call readiness, and building high-assurance software in a fast-paced cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Experience programming with C/C++ in large-scale systems.
• Experience leading architecture and design decisions for complex software.
• Strong debugging, profiling and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with relational databases (Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship fixes and features in the C/C++ replication engine for PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server endpoints.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues including crashes and data issues using core dumps and memory profilers.
• Develop automated tests and expand test coverage for migration paths.
• Contribute to security compliance initiatives and vulnerability remediation.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and release management for large-scale deployments.
• Collaborate with Database Engineers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
• Leverage AI-powered tooling to accelerate defect detection and resolution.
