Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking an R&D Engineer III to join its Endoscopy Sustaining R&D team. The role protects product quality, regulatory compliance and business continuity across a portfolio of commercial medical devices.

Engineers improve and optimize released products, solve complex technical challenges, and ensure Endoscopy technologies continue to meet the needs of patients, physicians, and the business throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience in product development, sustaining engineering, or similar.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to draw conclusions from data from multiple sources.
• Working knowledge of quality systems and design controls, regulatory standards (ISO13485, 21CFR820).
• Able to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support sustaining R&D activities for Endoscopy products, including product improvements and design changes.
• Develop test methods and perform design verification and lifecycle management initiatives.
• Design, coordinate and execute engineering tests; analyze data to support decisions.
• Assess feasibility and robustness of proposed product/material/process changes.
• Prepare and review design change assessments, test protocols, technical reports, and risk documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Plan and schedule activities to meet milestones with limited supervision.
• Present project status, technical findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
