Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking an R&D Engineering Manager to lead our Endoscopy Sustaining R&D team in Ireland. You will oversee a group of engineers focused on maintaining product quality, compliance, and business continuity across a portfolio of medical devices.

The role requires strong technical leadership, 5+ years in leadership, and experience with FDA/BSI regulated design controls. You will guide strategies, develop staff, manage budgets, and collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver

Qualifications

Honours bachelor degree (level8) in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related discipline required.
5+ years in technical leadership roles, preferably in medical device industry.
1-2 years’ experience in direct people leadership preferred.
Ability to communicate technical issues and risks across all levels clearly.
Experience with FDA/BSI regulated medical device design controls.
Knowledge of statistical data analysis and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

Assists in functional deliverables and ensures technical excellence for Sustaining R&D.
Provides guidance and approval regarding technical strategies and approaches.
Identifies opportunities to drive Value Improvement Projects and Complaint Reduction.
Leads and mentors staff, recruits and develops talent, and drives best practices.
Oversees budgets, staff levels, and allocation of resources with project managers.
Maintains cross-functional team relationships and resolves technical issues.
