Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a well-established main building contractor with its head office in West Cork. The role involves overseeing commercial management across projects in West Cork, Cork City and Kerry, with a focus on cost control and final account delivery.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years’ experience as a QS, strong main contractor background, and proven ability to manage procurement, valuations, variations and reporting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Strong main contractor background.
• Proven ability to manage procurement to final account.
• Excellent commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Cork and Kerry.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial and cost control across multiple projects.
• Preparing budgets, cost plans, estimates and tender documentation.
• Leading subcontractor procurement, negotiations and package management.
• Managing interim valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
• Managing contractual matters and commercial reporting.
• Liaising with clients, project managers, engineers and subcontractors.
• Providing commercial support and guidance to project teams.
