Job summary

Jones Engineering is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a Mechanical background to join our Data Centre team in Collinstown, Ireland, with occasional travel to Germany. You will manage the full commercial scope of Mechanical projects, price work, monitor budgets, and advise on contract obligations.

Candidates should have a third level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics, 6+ years' post-qualification experience, and strong IT and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics.
• Minimum 6+ years' experience post-qualification.
• MEP experience preferable but not essential.
• Data Centre experience preferable.
• Excellent IT skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for full management, pricing and collation of Mechanical projects and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and advise the construction team.
• Identify commercial risks and report to management.
• Prepare monthly progress applications with remeasure, variations and claims.
• Procurement activity and contract support in coordination with Procurement.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects.
• Review and commercially manage projects for accurate reporting.
• Identify trends within the Business & Projects and report them.
• Review correspondence to identify critical items and respond.
• Ensure adherence to contract requirements and provide monitoring.
• Work independently and as part of a multi-functional team.
• Strong IT skills are essential.
• Assist in building supply chains with European vendors and analyze quotations.
