Job summary

Rockwell in Ireland seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Kildare to oversee cost management and procurement for a semiconductor project. Reporting to Commercial Manager, you will manage budgets and subcontractor accounts, ensuring contractual compliance and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a QS in construction, with exposure to semiconductor and pharmaceutical projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full cost management and procurement for regional projects.
• Ensure contractual requirements are met and guide the construction team.
• Identify commercial risks and report to management promptly.
• Review monthly progress, remeasurements, variations, and claims.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to final account and cash flow forecasting.
• Monitor turnover and cash flow and provide accurate reporting.
• Stay updated on industry trends affecting Mechanical/HVAC systems.

Job description

Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to work with a dynamic and progressive engineering company?

Reporting to Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost management and procurement for our projects in the region. The position will be initially based in Kildare, overseeing a semi conductor project, on a permanent, full-time basis

Duties and Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for the full management, pricing and collation of Mechanical projects and budgets, of various sizes.
• Make sure that all contractual requirements are met and offer guidance and oversight to the construction team in relation to this.
• Capability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management.
• Review and update monthly progress reports to accurately reflect remeasurements, site variations, additional work, and any claims.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account.
• Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
• Evaluating and overseeing the commercial aspects of all projects to ensure accurate and trustworthy reporting.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies affecting Mechanical and HVAC systems.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Experience:

• Relevant 3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a quantity surveyor within the construction industry, with exposure to semi conductor and pharmaceutical projects
• Have strong commercial awareness
• Knowledge and understanding of both HVAC and Piping Systems.
• Be comfortable in your use of Microsoft Office, with the ability to generate detailed monthly reports.
• Have a positive attitude with a passion to learn & succeed, an energetic approach and an ability to take accountability
