Job summary

An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to support the commercial delivery of a major project. This role will suit someone comfortable operating independently, managing contracts, costs, and subcontractors within a structured project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the commercial performance of a project, ensuring contracts are effectively managed and risks are controlled
• Review and support negotiation of main contract terms, highlighting key risks and ensuring compliance
• Develop and maintain project budgets, tracking costs, changes, and overall financial position
• Lead the procurement and commercial management of subcontract packages
• Manage subcontractor payments, variations, and final accounts
• Prepare and submit client payment applications with appropriate supporting records
• Maintain accurate commercial documentation, including variation tracking and site records
• Contribute to cost reporting, forecasting, and cashflow management
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
• Support governance processes and uphold strong commercial standards

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience operating at Senior QS level on complex construction or engineering projects
• Pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated sector experience is advantageous
• Strong contract knowledge and commercial awareness
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and project finances
• Capable of working autonomously in a freelance capacity
