Fruition Group Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Python Software Engineer to lead complex technical initiatives, drive architectural direction, and deliver scalable, secure software solutions in a financial services context.

The role emphasizes backend leadership, API design, cloud native deployments on AWS, and collaboration with product, design and QA teams to ensure high-quality delivery while mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in software engineering with senior/lead responsibilities.
• Proven backend experience in Python with FastAPI/Flask/Django.
• Experience building APIs, data models, and scalable distributed systems.
• Frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native or serverless architecture in AWS.
• Experience delivering CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to design secure, maintainable software architectures.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with governance, code reviews, and quality standards.
• Experience interacting with business stakeholders to align with strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex software solutions across backend, frontend, and cloud systems.
• Drive architectural improvements for scalability, resilience, and performance.
• Investigate incidents, lead root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures.
• Mentor engineers in problem-solving, coding standards, and professional development.
• Participate in technical design reviews and guide long-term engineering decisions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance delivery efficiency.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and operations for end-to-end delivery.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
