Job summary

GMC Utilities Group in Galway is seeking an experienced Proposals Engineer to own and optimise the end-to-end proposal process for engineering, utilities and infrastructure opportunities.

You will work with cross-functional teams to develop compelling technical and commercial submissions, manage bid risk and deliver timely responses that meet client specifications. The role offers an opportunity to influence strategy, improve governance and drive growth within the Group.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related technical discipline.
• Proven bid delivery experience for significant engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to assess cost, value and risk.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete proposal process from opportunity qualification to contract award.
• Develop clear value propositions and win themes for each opportunity.
• Coordinate high-quality technical and commercial submissions aligned with tender requirements.
• Identify commercial and contractual risks and support engagement with client procurement teams.
• Lead structured go/no-go reviews and coordinate inputs from multiple disciplines.
• Support handover of successful bids to delivery teams and capture lessons learned.
