Job summary

Roughan & O’Donovan is seeking an experienced Project Resident Engineer for an 18-month fixed-term contract in the north Cork area. You will oversee the site supervision team delivering bridge construction and local road diversion projects in county Cork.

The role involves day-to-day site operations, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, health and safety, quality standards and environmental regulations in a live railway environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent).
• 15 years’ postgraduate experience supervising major civil engineering works, with at least 10 years in civil engineering and 7+ years as project/senior resident engineer on PW-CF3 projects.
• Experience supervising works in a railway environment and administering public works contracts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the employer’s representative in duties.
• Administer PW-CF3 public works contract.
• Manage site-based team and monitor execution per contract.
• Review contractor submissions, method statements, traffic management and environmental plans.
• Liaise with design team on design-related matters and with stakeholders.
• Establish quality control procedures, records and claims management.
