Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager/Head of Engineering to lead the engineering function at a high-volume infant nutrition site in Cork, Ireland. You will drive CAPEX projects from concept through handover and manage multi-disciplinary teams across external partners.

The role requires extensive manufacturing engineering background, a track record of CAPEX delivery, and strong budget/ROI experience to optimise plant performance and expansion.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience, manufacturing focus
• 5+ years in senior engineering/engineering management or capital projects leadership
• Proven experience leading engineering/project teams and managing external partners
• Strong track record delivering CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning and handover
• Experience with budgets, project costs, business cases and ROI
• Background in food, dairy, infant nutrition, FMCG or process manufacturing is desirable
• Experience with brownfield projects, site expansion and capacity increases
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, automation, utilities, reliability and CI
• Excellent stakeholder management with site leadership and senior management
• Engineering degree required; PMP/PRINCE2 advantageous

Senior Project Manager

An established multinational food manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering / Senior Project Manager to lead the engineering function at an existing, high-volume infant nutrition manufacturing site.

The ideal background

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

• 10+ years' engineering experience, including significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years in a senior engineering, engineering management or capital projects leadership position.
• Proven experience leading engineering/project teams and managing external contractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Strong track record delivering CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning and handover, ideally across multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience managing engineering budgets, project costs, business cases and ROI.
• A background in food, dairy, infant nutrition, FMCG or process manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Experience with brownfield projects, site expansion, capacity increases and process optimisation within an operational manufacturing facility.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, automation, utilities, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with site leadership and senior management.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Manufacturing or a related discipline. PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent is advantageous.
