Job summary

CREGG Group in County Mayo, Ireland seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead major capital projects focused on installing automated production lines for powder processing and packaging. You will own projects from concept through to installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget adherence.

The role requires a third-level engineering or related degree with demonstrated experience managing CAPEX in manufacturing, including automation and packaging equipment,

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Engineering, Project Management or related technical discipline.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in manufacturing, FMCG, food or beverage environments.
• Demonstrable experience managing CAPEX projects from concept through to completion.
• Experience delivering projects with automated production lines, packaging machinery and/or powder processing equipment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial automation and production equipment.
• Experience managing contractors, equipment suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage capital investment projects involving new automated production lines, powder processing and packaging equipment.
• Oversee projects from concept through detailed design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate installation and integration of new automation systems and packaging lines.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS and external contractors to ensure delivery.
• Manage equipment suppliers, engineering contractors and third-party service providers.
• Supervise site installation activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical, operational and project-related issues throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure new equipment and lines are commissioned, validated and handed over to operations.
• Drive continuous improvement and manufacturing performance through new technologies and automation.
• Provide regular project updates on progress, costs, timelines, risks and milestones to senior stakeholders.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a leading globalmanufacturing and concentrate plant manufacturing operation based in County Mayo.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Project Manager to take ownership of major capital projects, with a particular focus on the installation, commissioning and delivery of new automated production lines across Powder Processing and Packaging operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering projects from initial concept and design through to installation, commissioning and final handover, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage capital investment projects involving new automated production lines, powder processing and packaging equipment.
• Manage projects from concept development and feasibility through detailed design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate the installation and integration of new automation systems, production equipment and packaging lines.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements and risk assessments.
• Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage equipment suppliers, engineering contractors and third‑party service providers.
• Oversee site installation activities, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical, operational and project‑related issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure new equipment and production lines are fully commissioned, validated and handed over to operational teams.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and manufacturing performance through the introduction of new technologies and automation.
• Provide regular project updates, reporting on progress, costs, timelines, risks and key milestones to senior stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Third‑level qualification in Engineering, Project Management or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience working as a Project Manager within a manufacturing, FMCG, food or beverage production environment.
• Demonstrable experience managing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects from concept through to completion.
• Experience delivering projects involving automated production lines, packaging machinery and/or powder processing equipment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial automation and production equipment.
• Experience managing contractors, equipment suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
