Purcell Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead high-profile construction projects from pre-construction through to client handover in Ireland. You will oversee planning, execution and delivery, coordinating project teams and ensuring safety, quality and programme compliance.

You will drive leadership, collaboration and risk management across projects, maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships while delivering on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in Project Management or Senior Project Management within construction.
• Experience delivering medium to large-scale commercial, healthcare, residential or public sector projects.
• Strong leadership and ability to develop project teams.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing and programme management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of projects from pre-construction to handover.
• Direct and support Project Managers, Site Managers and engineers.
• Manage programmes to meet milestones and completion dates.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and design teams.
• Maintain strong client, consultant and stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Design and Building Services to manage risks and opportunities.
• Monitor performance against programme, budget, quality and safety objectives.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, regulations and company procedures.
• Identify design issues and risks, communicating and resolving them promptly.
• Foster a positive project culture emphasising health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Mentor site management team for professional growth.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and client handover, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the planning, execution and successful delivery of projects from commencement through to final handover.
• Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers and wider project teams.
• Manage project programmes to ensure key milestones and completion dates are achieved.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Work closely with Commercial, Design and Building Services teams to proactively manage project risks and opportunities.
• Monitor project performance against programme, budget, quality and safety objectives, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Ensure full compliance with contract documentation, drawings, specifications, building regulations and company procedures.
• Identify design issues, technical queries and programme risks, ensuring they are communicated and resolved efficiently.
• Promote a positive project culture while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental performance.
• Mentor and develop members of the site management team, supporting their professional growth and development.

The Candidate

You will be an experienced construction professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects for a Main Contractor.

You will have:

• Minimum 10 years' experience in Project Management or Senior Project Management within the construction industry.
• Main Contractor experience delivering medium to large-scale commercial, healthcare, residential or public sector projects.
• A degree qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or a relevant trade background with significant management experience.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing project teams.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, contract administration and programme management.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage project risks effectively.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced project environments.
