Job summary

Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior Contract Accountant to join our client, a leading insurance company based in Dublin City Centre, on a 9-month contract. The role will provide additional support across the finance function while team members are involved in key projects, and help manage increased day-to-day workload.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant able to take ownership of financial reporting within an insurance environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience.
• Insurance industry experience essential.
• Experience with financial reporting, month/quarter/year-end.
• Exposure to Solvency II or regulatory reporting advantageous.
• Strong Excel and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial results for group reporting.
• Assist with financial reporting under local GAAP.
• Support regulatory reporting including Solvency II and other requirements.
• Assist with UK GAAP financial statements.
• Provide additional accounting support across the finance team during periods of increased workload.
• Take ownership of responsibilities when team members are on projects.
• Support finance materials for Board and Committee meetings.
• Assist with finance process improvements and system changes.
• Contribute to local tax reporting and other finance deliverables.
• Support ad hoc finance projects as required.

This role will provide additional support across the finance function while members of the team are involved in key projects, as well as helping to manage increased day-to-day workload. The successful candidate will be an experienced qualified accountant who can quickly take ownership of financial and regulatory reporting responsibilities within an insurance environment.

Your Role

• Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial results for group reporting
• Assist with financial reporting requirements under local GAAP
• Support regulatory reporting, including Solvency II and other relevant requirements
• Assist with the preparation of UK GAAP financial statements
• Provide additional accounting support across the finance team during periods of increased workload
• Take ownership of responsibilities arising where existing team members are allocated to projects
• Support the preparation of finance materials for Board and Committee meetings
• Assist with finance process improvements and system changes where required
• Contribute to local tax reporting and other finance deliverables
• Support ad hoc finance projects as required

Your Skills

• Qualified Accountant
• Strong post-qualification accounting experience
• Previous insurance industry experience is essential
• Experience across financial reporting and month, quarter or year-end reporting
• Exposure to Solvency II or other regulatory reporting would be an advantage
• Strong Excel skills and a high level of general Microsoft Office proficiency
• Experience working with general ledger systems
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable joining an established team and taking ownership of work quickly
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to manage changing priorities and additional workload
