Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent.
• Post-qualification experience in financial accounting.

• Experience liaising with external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements and year-end schedules for multiple entities.
• Work closely with external auditors, providing supporting documentation and responding to audit queries.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare reconciliations, financial analysis and reporting across Irish and UK entities.
• Assist with regulatory and financial reporting requirements as required.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and support effective financial controls.
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues arising through the reporting cycle.
• Collaborate with finance colleagues to meet statutory and internal reporting deadlines.
• Provide financial information in response to tax, audit and other external requirements.
• Support finance projects and reporting process improvements.

Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our client, an international insurance business based in Dublin City.

This is a broad financial accounting role supporting the Irish and UK operations. The position will focus on statutory financial statements, year-end reporting, external audit requirements and the wider day-to-day financial accounting activities of the business.

Your Role

• Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting year-end schedules for a number of legal entities
• Work closely with external auditors, providing supporting documentation and responding to audit queries
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial information is accurate and delivered on time
• Prepare reconciliations, financial analysis and supporting reporting across the Irish and UK businesses
• Assist with regulatory and financial reporting requirements as required
• Maintain accurate accounting records and support the effective operation of financial controls
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues arising through the reporting cycle
• Work closely with colleagues across finance to meet statutory and internal reporting deadlines
• Provide financial information in response to tax, audit and other external requirements
• Support finance projects and improvements to reporting processes where required

Your Skills

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, ACMA or an equivalent qualification
• Previous post-qualified experience in a financial accounting role
• Experience within general insurance
• Strong experience preparing statutory financial statements and supporting year-end reporting
• Experience working with external auditors and managing audit information requests
• Good understanding of financial accounting, reporting and control requirements
• Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems such as Oracle, SAP or Workday
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve accounting issues
• Comfortable managing competing deadlines across month-end and year-end reporting cycles
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working within an international finance environment would be an advantage
