Job summary

NEC Software Solutions is seeking a Programme Manager to lead the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme, overseeing safe DESP call/recall, capacity planning and QA compliance. You will work with diverse stakeholders to ensure delivery meets national standards and reduces blindness from diabetic retinopathy.

The role requires strong leadership, data analysis and contract/budget management skills, with a focus on performance against DESP standards and KPIs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in management within diabetic eye screening or healthcare
• Degree level or equivalent professional experience
• Evidence of CPD
• Full driving license with access to vehicle
• Understanding of QA processes and reporting requirements
• Ability to analyse complex data and generate reports
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Experience with contracts and budget management
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and across stakeholders
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Ability to handle pressure and maintain effectiveness
• DBS/Disclosure checks as required

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe running of DESP call/recall, exclusions, suspensions and administration
• Oversee smooth screening sessions
• Lead capacity planning to meet screening and grading targets
• Ensure workforce education and training compliance
• Identify and manage issues, risks and incidents
• Ensure compliance with QA requirements
• Monitor performance against DESP standards and KPIs
• Share responsibility for training and competency of the workforce
• Collaborate with DESP Clinical Lead to achieve service objectives
