Job summary

Partner Company in Ireland is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to own end-to-end development of production-ready web software. You will work across frontend, backend, databases, cloud infrastructure, testing, and production operations in a small, accountable pod with product and domain experts.

You’ll focus on delivering reliable features using React/TypeScript on the frontend and Node.js on the backend, with PostgreSQL data stores and AWS-based services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping production web software across frontend and backend.
• Strong experience delivering production features from requirements through deployment and ongoing operation.
• Proficiency with TypeScript and Node.js, React, or comparable technologies for full-stack work.
• Solid experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and data modeling practices.
• Professional experience with AWS or comparable cloud platform and event-driven architectures.
• Strong testing discipline, including unit tests and end-to-end tests with Playwright.
• Practical experience with AI coding tools in day-to-day engineering workflow.
• Ability to work in complex or regulated domains; fintech/tax/regulated sectors are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent delivery track record.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with product, engineering, and domain experts.
• Clear documentation of decisions, estimates, and rationale.
• Comfort with autonomous work and owning requirements and direction.
• Willingness to contribute across frontend, backend, data, testing, and cloud infra.
• Experience with Node.js 20, Fastify, Express, React 18, module federation, PostgreSQL/Aurora, AWS Lambda, SQS, S3, ECS and event-driven processing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own product features end to end from clarifying requirements to deployment and production support.
• Collaborate with product owners and domain experts to translate needs into buildable solutions.
• Develop across the full stack using React/TypeScript frontend and backend services.
• Build reliable, maintainable software with clean engineering practices and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Write and maintain automated tests including unit and Playwright end-to-end tests.
• Leverage AI coding agents and AI-driven QA tools to increase velocity and quality.
• Operate and support the software including monitoring and incident resolution.
• Document technical decisions, acceptance criteria, estimates, and changes for team alignment.
• Take responsibility for delivery commitments and proactively manage risks.
• Contribute to a collaborative pod with ownership, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing.
