Job summary

Cal.com is seeking a Senior Product Designer to own core product surfaces end to end, from sketch to browser prototype. You’ll craft prototypes with real semantics, hand them to engineers, and push the design system to evolve with the library.

You’ll work async, globally remote with a small team, emphasizing accessibility, patterns, and developer-facing APIs. If you love detail, prototyping, and open collaboration, this is your role.

Qualifications

• Senior-level product design experience owning complex, ambiguous product areas from problem framing through launch and iteration.
• Exceptional craft with attention to detail and ability to zoom in on fine UI states.
• Able to build interactive prototypes independently, using HTML, CSS, TS, and React.
• Daily use of AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, v0) and strong opinions about their role.
• Deep familiarity with web standards and platform primitives.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems and a component library.
• Fluency with headless primitive composition (Base UI, Radix).
• Strong accessibility knowledge (WCAG, ARIA, assistive tech).
• Understanding APIs, data models, and state constraints.
• Collaborative by default; open critique and documented thinking.
• Strong written communication and high autonomy in async environments.

Responsibilities

• Own core product surfaces from concept through working prototype: booking flows, scheduling primitives, team surfaces.
• Build and test working prototypes with tools that fastest answer questions (Figma, Claude Code, Cursor, v0).
• Hand off prototypes with correct semantics and real states for engineers to implement.
• Continually improve coss ui by auditing, closing gaps, refining primitives, and landing new components.
• Keep the system honest: tokens, spacing, states, dark mode, motion.
• Pressure-test architecture with Design Engineering on data shape and primitive boundaries.
• Own outcomes, define success, and follow through implementation to results.
• Maintain accessibility gate: keyboard paths, focus, semantics, contrast, motion preferences.
• Sweat the last 10%: empty states, error copy, loading behavior and motion details.
• Work openly with Head of Product and Design Engineer; invite critique and adjust to constraints.
• Write thinking down; async means the doc, Loom, and prototype are the meeting.
