Job summary

Dexcom is hiring a Senior Process Engineer (Chemistry) for its European manufacturing start-up in Athenry. You will lead design of experiments, develop analytical methods for materials and products, and support scaling of processes from pilot to full production.

Strong collaboration across Manufacturing, Quality, Automation and Engineering will be essential for success. The role requires a chemistry-focused degree with 5–8 years of industry experience, plus proficiency in DOE and statistical

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field and 5–8 years of industry experience, or advanced degree with related experience.
  • Experience in DOE, statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Ability to write clear technical protocols, reports and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead DoE execution to optimize Dexcom manufacturing processes in new European site.
  • Develop SME knowledge on CQAs, CPPs and CMAs of manufacturing steps.
  • Develop analytical methods for raw materials and finished product characterization.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, materials, processes; support RCAs and CAPA initiatives.

As a Senior Process Engineer (Chemistry), you will apply proven engineering principles to implement, characterize, improve, and validate manufacturing processes used in scaling up new or existing products.Where you come in:You will develop and lead the execution of Design of Experiments (DOEs) in Dexcom’s manufacturing processesYou will develop SME knowledge on CQAs, CPPs and CMAs of Dexcom’s manufacturing processesYou will work on analytical test method development for raw material and finished product characterizationYou will compile, trend, and evaluate test data to characterize process variables and define process limitsYou will prepare technical documentation including protocols, reports, procedures, study summaries, and inputs to risk documentation such as pFMEAs.You will be responsible for troubleshooting all equipment, raw material, process, or finished product line down issues that may occur in manufacturing operationsYou will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Software, and other Engineering teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and support implementation of new processesYou will participate in design reviews, process reviews, failure investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities for new and existing products/processesThis position assumes and performs other duties as assignedWhat makes you successful:You will have a deep understanding of analytical test method development, validations, small molecule and polymer formulation development (or related)Experience with DOE, statistical analysis, data visualization, root cause analysis, or statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, Python, Excel, or equivalent tools is preferred.Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with evolving prioritiesStrong communication skills with the ability to write clear technical protocols, reports and proceduresExperience and Education Requirements:Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or master's degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years' experience.What you’ll get:A front row seat to life changing CGM technology.
