Job summary

Dexcom is establishing its first European manufacturing site in Athenry. We seek a QC Inspector 2 to support the Receiving Inspection Department within Quality Assurance, ensuring conformance to specifications for incoming components and materials.

You’ll work with QA engineers and suppliers, maintain documentation, and help set up the RI Lab. The role requires a minimum Level 6 in Quality/Engineering, 2–4 years in medical devices, and proficiency with inspection tools like Smartscope and

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 6 in Quality, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2–4 years’ experience within the medical device industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with clear written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in inspection equipment (Smartscope, Keyence) and software (Minitab, MS Office).

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, testing and sampling for incoming components, materials, sub-assemblies and products to ensure conformance to specs.
  • Prepare and update receiving inspection reports with accurate information.
  • Handle RI materials transactions in defined systems and collaborate with QA and suppliers.
  • Monitor equipment and instrumentation for safe operation and adherence to GMP and company standards.
  • Assist in setting up the Receiving Inspection Dept. and RI Lab responsibilities.

The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us.This role follows a fixed (non‑rotational) evening shift pattern: Monday–Thursday from 3:30 pm to midnights and Friday from 2:30 pm to 10pmMeet The TeamOur Receiving Inspection Department within our Quality Assurance team are looking for a dynamic and skilled QC Inspector 2 (Onsite role) to support the start-up of our first European manufacturing site in Athenry. As a member of the Receiving Inspection team, the inspector is responsible for ensuring the activities related to the inspection functions are performed in a manner which meets company standards and methods as determined by the Quality Assurance or other Engineering departments.Where You Come In:You will perform inspections, check testing and sampling procedures for incoming components, materials, sub-assemblies and products to ensure conformance to specified requirements in accordance with material specification, drawing and Quality Assurance standards.You will prepare, record, and update receiving inspection report forms and ensure all paperwork contains accurate and legible information.You will perform transactions related to RI Materials in a defined system.You will work closely with Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers and other functions on any material, equipment or test-related issues that arise.You will monitor equipment and instrumentation to ensure there are no issues, and equipment is safe to use.You will adhere to all GMP, safety guidelines and company standards at all times.You will be part of the team involved in the setup of the Receiving Inspection Dept. and associated RI Lab.You will assume and perform other duties as assignedWhat Makes You Successful:You can demonstrate strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and written and verbal communication skillsYou are proficient in the use of inspection Equipment and tools (Smartscope, Keyence, etc.)You must be able to flex to work in different shifts to meet demand.Proficiency with statistical analysis (e.g. Minitab) and Microsoft Office Products is desirableExperience & Education Requirements:You have a minimum Level 6 in Quality, Engineering or a related discipline.You have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience within the medical device industry.What You’ll GetA front row seat to life changing CGM technology.
