Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Senior Process Engineer (Chemistry) to support the start-up of its first European manufacturing site in Athenry. You will apply engineering principles to implement, characterize, improve, and validate manufacturing processes for scaling up new or existing products.

The role requires strong experience in analytical test method development, DOE, and cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Software and other teams.

Qualifications

  • Design of Experiments (DOEs) in manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of CQAs, CPPs and CMAs.
  • Experience with analytical test method development.
  • Strong statistical analysis and data visualization skills.
  • Experience with JMP, Minitab, Python or Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead DOEs in manufacturing processes.
  • Build SME knowledge on CQAs, CPPs, CMAs.
  • Develop analytical test methods for materials and product characterization.
  • Compile and trend test data to define process limits.
  • Prepare technical documentation and risk inputs (pFMEAs).
  • Troubleshoot equipment, materials, process or product issues.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Software and other Engineering teams.
  • Participate in design/process reviews and root-cause investigations.

Our Engineering team is looking for the right team member to support the start-up of our first European manufacturing site in Athenry. As a Senior Process Engineer (Chemistry), you will apply proven engineering principles to implement, characterize, improve, and validate manufacturing processes used in scaling up new or existing products.

Where you come in:
  • You will develop and lead the execution of Design of Experiments (DOEs) in Dexcom’s manufacturing processes
  • You will develop SME knowledge on CQAs, CPPs and CMAs of Dexcom’s manufacturing processes
  • You will work on analytical test method development for raw material and finished product characterization
  • You will compile, trend, and evaluate test data to characterize process variables and define process limits
  • You will prepare technical documentation including protocols, reports, procedures, study summaries, and inputs to risk documentation such as pFMEAs.
  • You will be responsible for troubleshooting all equipment, raw material, process, or finished product line down issues that may occur in manufacturing operations
  • You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Software, and other Engineering teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and support implementation of new processes
  • You will participate in design reviews, process reviews, failure investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities for new and existing products/processes
  • This position assumes and performs other duties as assigned
What makes you successful:
  • You will have a deep understanding of analytical test method development, validations, small molecule and polymer formulation development (or related)
  • Experience with DOE, statistical analysis, data visualization, root cause analysis, or statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, Python, Excel, or equivalent tools is preferred.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear technical protocols, reports and procedures
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or master's degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years' experience.

The annualised base salary for this position is from €63,665.00 to €82,390.00 gross. Final offer will depend on your qualifications, competencies, and professional experience.
