Job summary

IFS is seeking a Senior Principal Platform Lead to own and drive the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) strategy. You will lead the end-to-end delivery of the portal, service catalog, and golden paths, while shaping developer experience across NGA and IFS product teams.

This is a hands-on, IC role focused on producing practical, scalable platform solutions. You should bring 8+ years in platform engineering, with production Kubernetes and a track record of delivering IDPs or developer portals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling engineering.
• Owned an IDP or developer portal end-to-end (Backstage, Port, Cortex, etc).
• Shipped production platforms at enterprise scale; strong platform adoption instincts.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes in production; deep infrastructure experience.
• Able to articulate platform value to product & engineering leaders; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the IDP vision, roadmap, and end-to-end execution at IFS; manage service catalogue and self-service tooling.
• Define platform standards to make the right way the easy way and drive adoption.
• Collaborate with NGA product teams and IFS R&D domain teams to understand and fix developer friction.
• Mentor senior platform engineers and raise the bar on developer experience (DX).
• Ensure security, reliability, and observability in the IDP and related tooling.
