Responsibilities

• Accounts preparation for a diverse portfolio of Companies, Partnerships & Sole Traders.
• Audit of small and medium sized companies, regulated entities.
• Company Secretarial Filings.
• Preparation & filing of corporate and personal tax returns.
• Preparation & submission of VAT/PAYE returns.
• Leading and mentoring junior staff members.
• Other Ad Hoc Duties as required.

Established in 1964, Berrill Kiernan & Associates is a progressive accountancy and advisory firm in Ireland’s North East. Our offices are located in the heart of Drogheda town, Co. Louth, 30 minutes from Dublin Airport. A dynamic professional services firm, we offer a range of services including audit & assurance services, taxation services, corporate and accounting services. Due to expansion, we are looking to grow our team.

The Role

Reporting to the Partners, the role will offer the successful candidate exposure to a wide variety of clients from sole traders to medium-sized companies. The role will look to build, manage and maintain excellent client relationships. This role will suit an accountant seeking career development, progression and building on their experience in Practice.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Accounts preparation for a diverse portfolio of Companies, Partnerships & Sole Traders
• Audit of small and medium sized companies, regulated entities
• Company Secretarial Filings
• Preparation & filing of corporate and personal tax returns
• Preparation & submission of VAT/PAYE Returns
• Leading and mentoring junior staff members
• Other Ad Hoc Duties as Required

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (CPA/ACA/ACCA) and have:

• 5+ years experience in Practice
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
• Strong level of attention to detail
• Excellent organisation, communication and time management skills
• Experience in using CCH, Relate/Bright Software, Cloud Accounting Packages (not essential)
• Knowledge and interest in AI and harnessing its benefits to benefit both clients and firm
• Experience in using Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to be flexible and to work under pressure
• Self starter and ability to work on own initiative
• Proven experience as a team player
