Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is helping a South Dublin-based Chartered Accountancy practice recruit an ambitious accounting professional. The role offers exposure across accounting, audit and tax for a varied portfolio of clients from local businesses to large corporate groups.

You will work in a collaborative team, leverage tech-forward tools, and develop hands-on experience with group consolidations under FRS 102 and IFRS, while training is provided for tax work.

Qualifications

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant with ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent.
  • Experience in Irish accountancy practice and audit exposure.
  • Strong accounting and audit knowledge, group/consolidations preferred.
  • Basic tax exposure beneficial with training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage accounts for a diverse client portfolio.
  • Lead and support audits for larger clients, including group consolidations under FRS 102 (and IFRS).
  • Assist with corporate and income tax compliance.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and build relationships.
  • Balance varied tasks efficiently in a fast-paced team.

Core Responsibilities
  • Financial Accounting: Manage and prepare accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Audit Leadership: Lead and support audits for larger clients, including group consolidations under FRS 102 (and some IFRS).
  • Taxation: Assist with corporate and income tax compliance (full training provided where needed).
  • Client Advisory: Act as a direct point of contact for clients, building strong professional relationships.
  • Practice Workflow: Balance varied tasks and priorities efficiently within a fast-paced team environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Qualification: Part or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA etc.)
  • Practice Background: Solid prior experience working within an Irish accountancy practice.
  • Audit & Accounting: Excellent foundation in core accounting principles and practical audit experience (group/consolidation exposure preferred).
  • Tax Knowledge: Basic tax exposure is a plus, though training will be provided.
  • Key Skills:
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills for direct client engagement.
  • Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with a eagerness to learn.
What We Offer
