Job summary

RED Engineering Ireland seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer in Dublin or Cork. You will lead simulations of power distribution for data centres, coordinate protection, and perform studies (ETAP preferred) to ensure reliability and safety. Collaboration with design teams and stakeholders is essential for project success.

Experience in MV/LV systems up to 132 kV, plus knowledge of SCADA and reporting, will be valuable. The role offers hybrid working and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Engineering required.
• Proven experience in power systems engineering; data centre exposure preferred.
• Working towards Chartered Eng status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Run computer simulations to optimize power distribution in data centre facilities.
• Support design teams; review RFIs and technical queries.
• Coordinate protection systems and perform arc flash studies to ensure safety and reliability.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, harmonic studies, and cable sizing per IEC standards.
• Document results and prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment.
