Job summary

RED is expanding as an international M&E consultancy and seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our Dublin office. You will design and optimize power distribution networks for data centres, run computer simulations, and support design teams to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Candidates should have experience with ETAP (preferred) and DigSilent or SKM; familiarity with MV/LV systems, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonic studies, and transient stability is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Engineering required.
• Experience in power systems design for data centres is advantageous.
• Proficiency with ETAP, DigSilent or SKM is preferred.
• Working towards Chartered Eng status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct load flow and short circuit analyses for data centre power distribution.
• Coordinate protection systems and perform arc flash studies.
• Size MV/LV cables and protect transformers, generators, motors, feeders to project specs.
• Collaborate with design teams and respond to RFIs with clear requirements.
• Prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment and document results.
• Maintain and update simulation documentation and methodology improvements.
