Job summary

Medtronic seeks a Senior Platform Engineer - ML/Ops to build and operate the software ecosystem for implantable cardiac devices. You will work across cloud-based, distributed systems and ML workflows, delivering scalable, secure software with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes designing platform services, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC, while supporting the ML lifecycle from development to deployment and monitoring. Hybrid work in Galway Ireland is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 2+ years (or 4+ years if no advanced degree).
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native or distributed software systems.
• Experience building platform services, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, or shared engineering capabilities.
• Strong Python development skills for production environments.
• Experience supporting ML development and deployment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate shared platform and MLOps capabilities to improve delivery and productivity.
• Design and implement cloud-native software solutions for complex problems.
• Build reusable services, APIs, templates, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC.
• Improve reliability, security, observability, and scalability of platforms.
• Support end-to-end ML lifecycle, including training, deployment, monitoring, and versioning.
• Lead projects and coordinate dependencies across teams.
• Investigate complex technical problems and provide actionable recommendations.
• Contribute to platform roadmaps and technical standards.
