Job summary

Medtronic in Galway, Ireland, is hiring a Senior AI Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy production-grade ML systems. You will blend data science with software engineering to deliver scalable AI solutions across our ICT unit, interfacing with data engineers, software engineers, and product teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong ML/data science background, hands-on experience building ML pipelines, deploying models to production, and a solid Python and cloud engineering skill set.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Strong theoretical foundation in machine learning, statistics, and data science methods.
• At least 3 years of experience deploying machine learning models into production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern MLOps workflows.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing, and modular system design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade ML systems including CV/ML models.
• Build end-to-end ML pipelines for data ingestion, training, validation, and deployment.
• Deploy models into production as APIs/services and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and product teams to operationalize AI solutions.
• Implement CI/CD for ML pipelines and ensure model lifecycle management.
