Job summary

Bloomberg is building a Dublin-based platform engineering team to own a new infrastructure platform that deploys, configures, validates, and observes critical production services. You will help modernize toward declarative configuration, automated workflows, and robust health telemetry.

We are seeking senior engineers who enjoy building reliable infrastructure platforms with production impact, and who can learn new areas on the job while collaborating across Bloomberg teams.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience in either functional or OO languages.
• Experience building, testing, debugging, and operating production software or infrastructure platforms.
• Ability to reason through ambiguous technical problems and make sound design decisions.
• Strong written, verbal, and diagram-based communication skills.
• High standards for code authorship, review, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and build software systems that manage production services safely at scale.
• Develop deployment, configuration, validation, and observability workflows for production infrastructure.
• Create safer automation with reviewable change management and reduced manual steps.
• Improve telemetry, alerting, and health checks for easier diagnosis.
• Own and operate production services with escalation paths and on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with internal users to understand requirements and deliver platform solutions.
• Mentor others and help raise engineering maturity of the team.
