Job summary

Bloomberg L.P. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Runtime Diagnostics in Dublin. You will design and implement high-performance services across C++, Python, and Go, building scalable APIs and distributed tooling for production debugging.

You will collaborate with diverse engineering teams, influence architectural decisions at scale, and leverage AI as appropriate to enhance developer workflows and platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing high-quality, scalable applications in C++, Java, or Go.
• Proficiency in system design and architecture with SDLC including automated testing and CI/CD
• Willingness to collaborate with teams across the organisation on integrations and tooling
• Stay current with industry trends, including open-source debugging infra and developer tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance services and APIs in C++, Python, Go and other languages as needed.
• Build and evolve HTTP services accessed via Web APIs that serve thousands of internal engineers.
• Drive the development of infrastructure with integrated diagnostic tooling across Bloomberg's engineering ecosystem.
• Collaborate with end-users to understand debugging workflows and translate needs into product features.
• Drive architectural decisions balancing performance and usability at scale.
• Apply AI capabilities judiciously as a development tool and as a feature within the products you build.
