Job summary

Mimica in Ireland is seeking a DevOps / Platform Engineer to join our platform team. You will work on health, resilience, and scalability of our multi-region cloud infrastructure and collaborate with engineering squads to move fast.

You will implement IaC with Terraform, migrate to Crossplane, and drive FinOps while ensuring secure IAM and efficient deployments across GKE and AWS/GCP. This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex problems in a remote-friendly, startup-like environment, with

Qualifications

Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes on GKE, EKS, OnPrem, or another managed service.
Proven experience with Terraform as your primary IaC tool; Terragrunt is a plus.
IAM and identity management on GCP or AWS.
Experience with ArgoCD for CD.
Observability with Honeycomb, Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic.
Proficient in Python for automating platform tasks.
Background in startups or scale-ups with ambiguity and fast pace.
Strong communication and collaboration; incident response experience.

Responsibilities

Support engineering teams across Mimica in developing mature, resilient applications on GKE.
Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and ArgoCD, plus platform apps in Python.
Manage GKE environments across regions, IAM and identity on GCP/AWS.
Investigate and triage issues in existing apps and observe health; implement changes to support SDLC.
Participate in on-call rotation to monitor health and incidents.
Migrate IaC from Terraform to Crossplane and expand multi-region clusters and single-tenancy.
Drive FinOps for cloud spend visibility and control.
Design access patterns for BYOC and single-tenancy environments.
Instrument, monitor and improve observability with Honeycomb and Grafana.
