Job summary

Bloomberg Dublin is building a pioneering platform team that designs and operates infrastructure powering a secure, scalable global service. You will own end‑to‑end platform software, from deployment workflows to validation and automation, working across Bloomberg's production environments.

The role focuses on building reliable infrastructure software, improving telemetry and observability, and shaping the architecture and operating model for a platform used by teams across the company.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience in a programming language (Python/Go helpful).
• Experience building, testing, debugging, and operating production software or infrastructure.
• Ability to reason through ambiguous technical problems and make sound design decisions.
• Strong written, verbal, and diagram-based communication skills.
• High standards for code authorship and review, testing, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and build software systems that manage infrastructure safely at scale.
• Build deployment, configuration, validation, and observability platforms for production infrastructure.
• Add safety, automation, and controls around change management to ease reviews and rollbacks.
• Improve telemetry, alerting, and health checks for easier diagnosis.
• Operate production infrastructure with team support and clear escalation paths.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation for production infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal users and partner teams to deliver scalable platform solutions.
• Review code carefully with focus on correctness and maintainability.
• Help shape architecture and operating model as the platform evolves.
