Job summary

Sisk is recruiting an experienced Senior Buyer to lead procurement of construction plant, equipment and related services for a major Netherlands project. You will manage supplier quotations, negotiate rates, oversee the hire lifecycle, and collaborate with project teams to optimise cost and schedule.

Fluent English is required; Dutch language skills are advantageous. The role sits on site in Amsterdam for a four-year project with a comprehensive rewards package.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' procurement experience, preferably in plant/equipment hire.
• Strong knowledge of plant hire and purchase categories and supplier markets.
• Ability to analyse quotations, negotiate rates and manage suppliers against cost, service and programme requirements.
• Experience with equipment certification, inspection, health and safety and environmental requirements.
• Proficiency in COINS or similar ERP system and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Servicing requisitions for purchase and hire of construction plant and related services.
• Analyse supplier quotations, prepare commercial comparisons and recommend best‑value solutions.
• Manage plant hire lifecycle from enquiry to off‑hire with accurate records.
• Attend procurement and project meetings; support sourcing and planning of plant requirements.
• Agree supplier rates and frameworks; maximise use of preferred agreements and rebates.
• Liaise with Supply Chain on onboarding, certification, inspection records and safety compliance.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery, and invoice accuracy; coordinate corrective actions.
• Identify procurement opportunities to improve cost, schedule and outcomes.
• Provide market intelligence on rates, availability and lead times to teams.
