Job summary

Dr. Ekler & Associates Human Resources Development Consultants Ltd. is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join a growing planning function of a leading Irish contractor.

The role suits someone with a strong site background in Site Engineer to Project Manager roles. You will develop realistic, buildable programmes across pre-construction and live projects, establish sequencing and dependencies, visit live sites, and support tender through to completion.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years construction experience with strong site background.
• Familiarity with drawings, specs and technical information.

Are you an experienced Site Engineer, Senior Site Engineer, Site Manager or Project Manager who understands construction from the ground up? I’m recruiting for a Construction Planner to join the growing planning function of a leading Irish construction contractor.

And this is important: previous site experience is a major priority.

This is not a traditional software-led planning role. The key requirement is knowing what needs to happen, when it needs to happen, and why.

You’ll use your practical construction knowledge to develop realistic, buildable programmes across pre-construction and live projects.

• Establish sequencing, dependencies and construction methodology
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and Engineers
• Visit live project sites to assess progress and constraints
• Identify programme risks, delays and sequencing conflicts
• Prepare short- and long-term lookahead programmes
• Support projects from tender/pre-construction through to completion

Who could be a good fit?

We’d particularly like to hear from candidates with 8–10+ years' construction experience and strong site-based experience. Irish man contractor experience is essential.

Your background could be as a: Site Engineer | Senior Site Engineer | Site Manager | Project Manager | Construction Planner

Previous planning experience is beneficial, but not essential if you have strong practical construction knowledge and can develop realistic, logic-driven programmes.

You should have a strong understanding of:

• Site sequencing and logistics
• Dependencies between trades and work packages
• Drawings, specifications and technical information
• The full construction lifecycle

Experience with Microsoft Project or similar programming software is advantageous, but the priority is construction knowledge rather than software expertise.
