Job summary

Dornan Group in Cork invites a Senior Piping Engineer to join our growing Engineering Team. You will apply your piping stress expertise on projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe, guiding design through to on-site installation.

The role emphasizes ownership, leadership and safe delivery, with strong Caesar II proficiency, ASME B31.1/B31.3 knowledge, pipe support and nozzle load assessment, and collaboration with designers and vendors.

Qualifications

Degree-qualified engineer or equivalent, with 10+ years' relevant experience.
Strong piping engineering and pipe stress analysis experience.
Proficient in Caesar II or equivalent piping analysis software.
Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1/B31.3; EN 13480 desirable.
Experience with pipe support design and equipment nozzle load assessment.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Commercial awareness with focus on safety, quality and delivery.
Ability to take ownership, prioritise workload and provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Supporting projects from design through to on-site installation.
Performing piping stress and flexibility analysis using Caesar II or equivalent.
Developing piping stress models, pipe supports and restraints, and assessing equipment nozzle loads.
Collaborating with designers and engineering disciplines to optimise pipe routing.
Developing/reviewing piping specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
Liaising with vendors, subcontractors and specialist designers.
Identifying value engineering opportunities and providing practical design solutions.
Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
Ensuring work meets project, quality, safety and engineering standards.
