Job summary

Dornan Engineering Group seeks a Senior Piping Engineer to join our Cork-based team. You will support projects from design through on-site installation, performing piping stress analysis and developing models for routing and interfaces.

You will drive technical leadership and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards across Ireland, the UK and Europe. The role requires a degree and 10+ years of piping experience, strong knowledge of ASME B31.1/B31.3, EN 13480 desirable, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer with 10+ years’ relevant experience.
• Strong piping engineering and pipe stress analysis experience.
• Proficient in Caesar II or equivalent piping analysis software.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1/B31.3; EN 13480 desirable.
• Experience with pipe support design and equipment nozzle load assessment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Commercially aware with focus on safety, quality and delivery.
• Ability to take ownership and provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support projects from design through to on-site installation.
• Perform piping stress and flexibility analysis using Caesar II or equivalent.
• Develop piping stress models, supports, restraints, and nozzle loads assessment.
• Collaborate with designers and engineering disciplines to optimise routing and interfaces.
• Develop/review piping specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
• Liaise with vendors, subcontractors and specialist designers.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and deliver practical design solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Ensure work meets project, quality, safety and engineering standards.

Senior Piping Engineer

Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in our Cork Head Office, this is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Engineering Team as a Senior Piping Engineer, supporting the delivery of our projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

Your day will include:

• Supporting projects from design through to on-site installation.
• Performing piping stress and flexibility analysis using Caesar II or equivalent.
• Developing piping stress models, pipe supports and restraints, and assessing equipment nozzle loads.
• Working closely with designers and engineering disciplines to optimise pipe routing, supports and interfaces.
• Developing/reviewing piping specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
• Liaising with vendors, subcontractors and specialist designers.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and providing practical design solutions.
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring and support to junior engineers.
• Ensuring work meets project, quality, safety and engineering standards.

About You
