Job summary

Raigmore Hospital in Inverness is seeking a Senior Charge Nurse / Senior Charge Practitioner to lead the elective theatre team. The role focuses on operational, clinical and leadership duties within a busy perioperative service, ensuring safe, patient-centred care across surgical specialties.

You will manage theatre activity, optimise capacity and resources, and drive service improvements while supporting staff wellbeing and professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner with perioperative experience.
• Significant leadership and team management experience in an operating theatre.
• Experience in workforce planning, governance and quality improvement.

• Day-to-day management and coordination of elective theatre activity.
• Lead and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality perioperative care.
