Job summary

Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic in Lucan, Co. Dublin, is seeking a Staff Nurse, Enhanced Nurse for the Neurosurgical Theatre. You will provide high-quality perioperative nursing in a high-risk cranial and spinal environment, upholding NMBI standards and patient dignity.

The role requires 2–3 years’ perioperative neurosurgery experience, sterile technique expertise, and strong teamwork with surgeons and anaesthetists. A commitment to learning and ongoing professional development is expected.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration.
• Minimum 2–3 years perioperative nursing experience in neurosurgery.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity perioperative nursing care in neurosurgery.
• Assist surgeons and multidisciplinary team during procedures and emergencies.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention throughout the perioperative period.
• Ensure accurate perioperative documentation, implants, and traceability.
• Support education of students and junior staff within the theatre.
• Contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
