Job summary

Hollister Incorporated is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer in Ballina, Ireland to lead medical device packaging activities across Ostomy and Continence Care. You will drive packaging system development, validation, and labeling, while supporting continuous improvement and best practices across the team.

You will mentor peers, coordinate documentation, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role demands strong CAD, statistical analysis, and cost-savings experience in a global packaging context.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical device packaging development and commercialization.
• CAD and concept prototyping experience.
• Validation of sterile and non-sterile packaging systems.
• Technical writing and documentation skills.
• Experience with cost savings and optimization.
• Design of experiments and process validation.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes and packaging materials.
• Familiarity with EU MDR, PPWR, UDI, IEC 62366 and FDA guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach cross-functional projects for new product development and packaging changes.
• Apply advanced knowledge on concepts and technical capabilities for large-scale projects.
• Establish and manage packaging project schedules.
• Develop and validate sterile/non-sterile packaging and labeling systems.
• Qualify new packaging materials, equipment and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with packaging regulations and monitor changes.
• Identify and lead packaging cost savings initiatives.
• Prepare protocols, reports, procedures and specifications.
• Mentor peers and develop test methods with statistical analysis.
• Represent Hollister at industry events and conferences.
