Job summary

Medforce in Ireland is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to provide a high-quality, person-centred OT service to adults in Primary Care, supporting independence, safety and daily living activities in the community. The position may be based at Mountbellew PC or Ballinasloe Health Centre, with consideration for an experienced Staff Grade.

Qualifications

• CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience with adult Primary Care or community caseloads.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full driving licence and access to own transport.

Responsibilities

• Manage an adult Primary Care caseload.
• Carry out functional, cognitive, and environmental assessments.
• Plan, implement, and review appropriate OT interventions.
• Recommend equipment, aids, and environmental adaptations.
• Work collaboratively within the Primary Care multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate effectively with service users, families, and relevant services.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Adhere to CORU standards, HSE policies, and local procedures.
• Provide clinical support and guidance to junior staff.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement.
