Job summary

Medforce seeks a Senior Occupational Therapist to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred OT for adults in Primary Care within the community. Based in Mountbellew or Ballinasloe, you will support independence and safety in daily living and may operate as Staff Grade with experience.

You will manage adult caseloads, perform functional and cognitive assessments, plan interventions, and work within a multidisciplinary team while ensuring documentation and CORU standards are met.

Qualifications

• CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience with adult Primary Care or community caseloads.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full driving licence and access to own transport.

Responsibilities

• Manage an adult Primary Care caseload.
• Carry out functional, cognitive, and environmental assessments.
• Plan, implement, and review OT interventions.
• Recommend equipment, aids, and environmental adaptations.
• Work collaboratively within the Primary Care multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate effectively with service users, families, and relevant services.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Adhere to CORU standards, HSE policies and local procedures.
• Provide clinical support and guidance to junior staff.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement.
