Job summary

Saint John of God Community Services Dublin South East is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Dublin South East. The role covers day and residential settings, focusing on assessment and intervention to promote independence and wellbeing for adults with intellectual disabilities.

The successful candidate will contribute to service development, collaborate with colleagues, and advance person-centred practice.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and CORU Registration.
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience or keen interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities.
• Experience in OT assessment and intervention promoting independence in ADLs, sensory processing, wellbeing and postural management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills.
• Full clean manual driving licence; pool cars available.

Location: On site / 111 Upper Glenageary Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, Ireland

Job type: Permanent / Full-time

Annual Salary range: from €65,197 to €76,767 per annum pro rata

Saint John of God Community Services Dublin South East provides a network of education, training, employment, respite and community living supports to adults with intellectual disabilities in South Dublin.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established multidisciplinary team to support our service users to live meaningful lives.

The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention across day and residential settings, promoting independence, participation, wellbeing and quality of life, while contributing to service development and collaborative multidisciplinary team working.

Candidates must have:

• A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and CORU Registration.
• A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.
• Have experience/a keen interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities.
• Demonstrate experience in Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention, including: Promoting independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) Sensory processing Wellbeing Postural management Initiative, flexibility, enthusiasm and resourcefulness.
• Have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills.
• Be innovative, flexible and resourceful, with a strong commitment to person-centred practice.
• Hold a full clean manual driver's licence (please clearly state this on your application).
• Pool cars available if you don't have own car.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience in service development, leadership or supervision of staff and/or students.
• Experience contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
