Job summary

Adult Disability Services in Longford is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team. The role focuses on seating, posture management and specialist equipment provision, working within a progressive, community-based service for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities.

You will lead clinical practice, contribute to service development and provide mentorship to junior therapists within a supportive MDT in Longford.

Qualifications

• CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, including senior-level experience.
• Experience in seating and specialist equipment provision.
• Experience working with adults with disabilities.
• Full, clean driving licence and access to a car.
• Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services to adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
• Assess, plan, implement and review individualised intervention programmes.
• Lead seating, posture management and equipment provision, including complex assessments.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Support and mentor staff grade occupational therapists and students, as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, with a particular emphasis onseating, posture management, and specialist equipment provision. You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and contribute to service development, clinical leadership, and best practice within adult disability services.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
