eir business talent is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our client's programme team in a mostly remote role with occasional travel to Dublin or Cork. The position focuses on hands-on delivery of network and security engineering in a complex enterprise environment.

You will deploy and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, support Cisco SD-WAN, and resolve issues directly rather than escalating. This is a day-rate contract position based in Ireland with travel as required.

eir business talent are currently seeking applicants for a Senior Network Engineer. This is a day rate contract position located with our client in Dublin/Cork. This is a mostly remote role with occasional travel required to either their Cork or Dublin site.

eir business talent is currently looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join an established programme team, providing hands-on network and security engineering support across a complex enterprise environment.

This is a technical delivery role, not an architecture or strategy position. You’ll be expected to work directly with the technology, troubleshoot issues independently and take problems through to resolution.

What you'll be doing

• Deploying, configuring and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls
• Supporting Cisco SD-WAN infrastructure and connectivity
• Diagnosing and resolving network and security issues independently
• Implementing firewall and network changes based on established designs and templates
• Supporting the deployment and configuration of networking equipment
• Troubleshooting routing, connectivity, firewall and wider infrastructure issues
• Working alongside existing network and security engineers within the programme
• Supporting occasional OT-related networking requirements where necessary

Key requirements

• Strong hands-on Palo Alto experience, particularly deployment, configuration and troubleshooting
• Cisco SD-WAN experience, including basic deployment and support
• Good understanding of network security and firewall technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
• Experience working within complex enterprise network environments
• Ability to independently diagnose technical issues rather than relying on escalation
• Comfortable remaining hands-on technically at a mid-to-senior / Senior Network Engineer level
