Job summary

Cadence Design Systems is seeking a Staff Network Engineer in Ireland (Cork or Dublin) to design, deploy and operate Cadence’s global enterprise network across data centres, campuses and WAN. The role emphasises secure, highly available connectivity and leadership of high-impact initiatives with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of experience in enterprise network architecture, design, deployment and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Cisco certification required (CCNP preferred; CCIE a strong plus).
• Extensive hands-on experience across data centre, campus, WAN and hybrid cloud networks.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable data centre and campus network solutions using Cisco, Arista, HPE and Aruba.
• Support WAN operations including internet edge and SD-WAN integrations.
• Lead complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and preventive changes to reduce incidents.
• Partner with Data Centre, Storage, Virtualisation, Windows, Unix, Cloud Ops and Security teams.
• Establish and maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards and runbooks.
• Operationalise solutions for Day 2 operations with monitoring, capacity planning and release processes.
• Communicate status, risks and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders; manage timelines and dependencies.
