Job summary

MyHome.ie in Dublin is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to own the backend rebuild as a .NET8 microservices platform on Azure Kubernetes. You will migrate legacy parts, ship code to production, and collaborate in a small team with autonomous delivery.

Responsibilities include building microservices, designing data models, implementing event-driven flows, and maintaining robust tests. This is an on-site role with Jira-driven sprints and AI-assisted development support.

Qualifications

• 6+ years backend development experience with production systems.
• 2+ years in senior/lead capacity delivering services.
• Strong C# /.NET8 and modern ASP.NET Core knowledge.
• Hands-on Azure Kubernetes, AKS and cloud native patterns.
• Experience migrating legacy systems to new platforms with minimal downtime.
• Experience with API gateways, messaging (MassTransit/Azure Service Bus), and CI/CD.
• Proficient in SQL Server/Azure SQL and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship .NET8 microservices behind an API gateway.
• Migrate capabilities from legacy estate to a new platform with a strangler‑fig approach.
• Develop event‑driven flows using MassTransit and Azure Service Bus.
• Work with Azure SQL, Elasticsearch and Redis; design schemas and optimize queries.
• Write unit and integration tests; diagnose production issues with App Insights.
• Own delivery pipeline components: Dockerfiles, Kubernetes manifests, Azure Pipelines.
• Review peers' code and guide outputs from AI-assisted development.
