Job summary

Worklane GmbH is seeking a Senior Database Developer in Ireland to design, optimize, and scale MongoDB and AWS-based MySQL/Aurora deployments. You will collaborate with development teams and DBAs to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with MongoDB (architecture, development, optimization, ops)
• 4+ years of experience with MySQL Development and administration
• Hands-on AWS experience with RDS/Aurora
• Familiarity with Kubernetes (EKS) and containerized deployments
• Experience with GitHub version control and CI/CD workflows
• Strong skills in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and query optimization
• Understanding of the SDLC and collaboration across teams
• Knowledge of database security, disaster recovery, and data migration practices

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance MongoDB solutions for demanding workloads.
• Manage and optimize AWS RDS (MySQL/Aurora) instances for security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Support deployments and orchestration with EKS (Kubernetes).
• Collaborate with developers to design efficient data models, queries, and indexing strategies.
• Manage database schema versioning and scripts with GitHub and Flyway.
• Monitor and tune performance using native tools, AWS CloudWatch, Datadog; address bottlenecks proactively.
• Ensure data integrity, security, compliance, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Support migrations across different RDBMS platforms.
