Job summary

Workday Ireland, Dublin, is seeking a senior PostgreSQL engineer to scale, optimise and shard our database infrastructure in line with rapid product growth. You will work with PostgreSQL, ideally within AWS, to manage capacity, tuning and deployment across public clouds.

You will collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure stability and performance while using ORMs like Rails/ActiveRecord and monitoring tools to prevent bottlenecks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience working with PostgreSQL, planning and provisioning database instances.
• Commercial experience managing PostgreSQL database performance relative to workload requirements.
• Proven database deployment experience, particularly in public clouds (preferably AWS and their RDS offering).
• PostgreSQL development experience in a scaled environment.
